Am 15.03. startete Five Feet Apart in den Vereinigten Staaten, das Datum für den Filmstart in Deutschland ist bisher noch unbekannt (angeblich Sommer 2019). Passend zum Film brachte Rachael Lippincott einen Roman heraus. Regisseur ist niemand anders als Justin Baldoni (Rafael aus Jane the Virgin). Die hochkarätige Besetzung lässt sich sehen: Haley Lu Richardson spielte zuvor in M. Night Shyamalans Split und der „Coming-of-Age-Comedy“ The Edge of Seventeen mit. Cole Sprouse kennen die meisten von euch wahrscheinlich als Jughead Jones aus der Netflixserie Riverdale. Ich habe den Trailer zum Film bestimmt schon zwanzig mal gesehen und finde ihn immer noch toll, daher kann ich den Kinostart kaum erwarten.Plot:Die Geschichte handelt von Stella und Will. Beide haben Mukoviszidose, Will sogar „Burkholderia cepacia“, ein Bakterium mit einer hohen Antibiotikaresistenz. Stella wartet auf neue Lungen und sie darf sich daher auf gar keinen Fall mit irgendetwas anstecken. Aus diesem Grund müssen die beiden immer „6 feet“, also ca. 180 cm Abstand zu allen anderen halten. Doch natürlich kommen den beiden ihre Gefühle in den Weg…Meinung:Eine herzzerreißende Geschichte, die mich total an Das Schicksal ist ein mieser Verräter erinnert. Das ständige Hin und Her zwischen Nähe und Distanz war spannend zu verfolgen. Trotz ihrer Gefühle durften sich Stella und Will nicht näher kommen, durften sich nicht küssen und sich nicht berühren. Ich habe gelesen, dass die Beschreibung der Krankheit in der Community unterschiedlich bewertet wurde, wobei ich denke, dass jede Krankengeschichte individuell verläuft und es daher sehr schwierig ist, ein Krankheitsbild entsprechend abzubilden. Die Charaktere bleiben zwar etwas flach, man merkt der Geschichte ihre Kürze an und es ist definitiv ein Fall von sogenannter „Instalove“, was ich eigentlich überhaupt nicht mag. Trotzdem war ich emotional absolut dabei und die Liebesgeschichte hat mich definitiv gepackt. Es ging viel darum, was es wirklich bedeutet zu leben und ich glaube, dass die Geschichte zwar im Format Film besser aufgehoben ist, sie aber trotzdem unterhaltsam und lesenswert ist, vor allem für Fans von Das Schicksal ist ein mieser Verräter.Besonders gelungen:-emotionale Liebesgeschichte-spannend: Nähe und Distanz-gut für das Format Film geeignetWeniger gelungen:-Instalove-flache CharaktereAlles in allem konnte mich das Buch mitreißen und ich habe noch viel über Will und Stella nachgedacht. Ich freue mich sooo sehr auf die Verfilmung, nicht nur, weil Cole Sprouse mitspielt. Unter dem Titel Drei Schritte zu dir erscheint der Roman am 18.04. auch im dtv-Verlag.
Normalerweise lese ich nicht auf englisch...man kommt auch mit einem normalen wortschatz sehr gut mit diesem buch zurecht und es ist eine absolute empfehlung wert... dieses buch ist voller höhen und tiefen, hat einen angenehmen schreibstil...
Such a great Book. The story is so heartbreaking and bitter Sweet. I also enjoy the style of writing, it‘s easy to understand even if you‘re not a native english speaking person.

Cried at the end, but I didn't like that their love story like them doing their regiments together and their talks weren't written in more detail. Still a beautiful story.
Es lohnt sich dieses Buch zu lesen. Eines der besten Bücher die ich je gelesen habe. Es ist super zu lesen auch wenn man kein Muttersprachler ist. SEHR ZU EMPFEHLEN!!! Freue mich auf den Film.
